Chung Shan Medical University (CSMU) is committed to advancing sustainability and generating meaningful social impact through education, healthcare, research, and community engagement. Sustainability principles are integrated into institutional planning, teaching, research, and campus operations, with initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through interdisciplinary collaboration and practical action, the University addresses key challenges such as health equity, aging societies, environmental health, and the development of sustainable healthcare systems

Center for Sustainable Development

The Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) serves as the University’s core platform for coordinating sustainability strategies and promoting long-term institutional development.

Mission

The mission of the Center is to:

  • Formulate institutional goals and strategic directions for sustainable development.
     
  • Develop and promote sustainability-related systems and support mechanisms.
     
  • Review, monitor, and evaluate the implementation of sustainability plans.
     
  • Integrate resources from the University, affiliated institutions, government agencies, and external organizations.
     
  • Plan and coordinate major sustainability initiatives in higher education.

University Social Responsibility (USR)

Office of University Social Responsibility

Sustainability & Social Impact-02

The Office of University Social Responsibility coordinates the planning, implementation, and evaluation of USR initiatives across the University.

Mission

  • Coordinate information, policies, and regulations related to USR.
     
  • Integrate teaching, research, and administrative resources related to social responsibility.
     
  • Convene regular meetings to support the promotion and oversight of USR practices.
     
  • Supervise the planning and execution of USR practice projects.
     
  • Plan and coordinate major matters related to USR development.

SDGs Integration and Institutional Impact
