Visa & Enrollment

Health insurance regulations are governed by the National Health Insurance Administration (NHI), while residency and Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) matters are administered by the National Immigration Agency (NIA).
 

Visa and residency matters are governed by the Government of Taiwan, while enrollment procedures are administered by the University.
 

I. Student Visa Application

International students admitted to CSMU must obtain an appropriate resident visa for study purposes before entering Taiwan.

Visa types, eligibility criteria, required documents, and application procedures are governed by the regulations of the Government of Taiwan and announced by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, MOFA (BOCA).
 

Applicants should submit visa applications to a Taiwan overseas mission (Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, TECO) in their country or region of residence.

Commonly required documents may include (subject to BOCA regulations):

  • Official admission letter issued by CSMU
  • Passport and completed visa application form
  • Proof of financial resources
  • Health examination certificate (if required)

Admission to CSMU does not guarantee visa approval.
 

II. Entry to Taiwan and Alien Resident Certificate (ARC)

After entering Taiwan with a student visa, international students are required to apply for an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) within the prescribed period.
 

ARC applications are processed by the National Immigration Agency (NIA), Ministry of the Interior.
 

Students must comply with all residency regulations during their stay in Taiwan.

III. Online Student Entry System (NIA COA)

After entering Taiwan, international students may be required to complete online registration and information submission through the NIA Foreign Student Online System (COA) in accordance with government regulations.

The COA system is used for:

  • Submission of personal and enrollment information
  • Immigration-related notifications and records
  • Assistance with residency management procedures

IV. Health Insurance

International students are required to maintain valid health insurance throughout their period of study in Taiwan.

Health insurance requirements are governed by the National Health Insurance Administration, MOHW (NHI).

V. Enrollment and Registration

Admitted students must complete enrollment and registration procedures according to the schedule announced by the University.

Failure to complete enrollment within the designated period may result in forfeiture of admission.
